Meet Matt

Matt Moretti is the founder of MJM Advocacy.

He specializes in representing company and client interests before the California Governor, State Legislature and Agencies. Matt is an experienced professional advocate with a demonstrated history of securing favorable outcomes for companies, clients and interest-based organizations.

From speaking in his first political commercial when he was 7 to support his dad’s bid for Governor of California, to running for the State Assembly when he was 29, Matt has spent his life embedded in California politics.

He spent sixteen years as an advocate for AT&T in California. During that time, he advocated for telecom, internet and technology policies that supported innovation and industry growth.

Prior to AT&T, Matt lobbied on behalf of California hospitals, physician assistants and alternative healthcare clients. He also worked for Assemblywoman Sally Lieber and Assemblyman Dennis Cardoza; where his responsibilities included serving as chief of staff, staffing legislation, serving as press secretary, staffing select committees and campaign fundraising. Matt was also selected as the first consultant to the Democrat Moderate Caucus (now called the New Democrats).

Matt chairs and operates the Bob Moretti Memorial Scholarship Foundation; a Foundation dedicated to providing scholarships supporting higher education to students seeking careers in civics. The foundation has given away $1.5 million in scholarships to students across California.

Matt graduated from the University Of Notre Dame. He and his wife Ermelinda reside in Sacramento.
